Data formats and their standardization

For the needs of human understanding of data, it is more convenient to talk about data at a higher level of abstraction, for example, that a given file is an image that is recorded (stored) in a certain data format, such as HTML or document formats. In order for computers and programs from different manufacturers to work with data, the data format is usually standardized.
